Listing Description:

About Me: My name is Barbara [LAST NAME DELETED].  I am currently a medical transcriptionist and nursing student.  I have been doing medical transcription for the last 6 years so that I could still have an income and stay home to raise my children.  I have 2 sons, ages 7 and almost 5.  Since they are both now in school, I decided it was time that I went back to school and achieved a better career.  This is where the nursing school comes in.  My husband and I have been married for 8 years this March.  He is currently in the Army and has been serving in the US Military since Dec 1998.  He has been deployed 3 times in the last 8 years, and we are greatful to have him home right now, although how long that will last is anyone's guess.  We own a nice home on 40 acres in Southeastern Colorado.  It is currently not being lived, but hopefully this summer we will make it back up there to repaint and list it for rent through a local property management company.  Our short-term goal is to have all superfilous debt paid off by the end of this summer.  I have taken on a second job from now until the end of the summer to help facilitate that goal.  At the end of May 2008, I will have graduated from nursing school and my husband will have a couple more promotions under his belt.  Once we are debt free and have some disposable income, I would like to become a lender on Prosper and especially help out other families that are in the same situation that we are currently in.

Reason For Loan: The purpose of this loan is to help us get completely caught back up and 1 month ahead on all of our bills.  This will provide us the opportunity to not only not have late payments, but also to make larger payments and pay things off by the end of this summer.  I understand that the terms of this loan are 3 years; however, I will not only be paying on time, but paying extra every month to pay it off before that 3 year mark. Our DTI is incorrect, as it does not include my husband's pay and only 1 of my jobs.

Income:
2000-2200 - monthly from full-time job
1000-1500 - monthly from part-time job
4000 - monthly from husband

Our current budget is:
750 - auto loan
650 - auto loan
825 - rent
1086 - mortgage
150 - auto/rental insurance
120 - phone/internet
700 - credit cards
300 - monthly groceries
255 - electricity

After receiving this loan, most of this will remain the same.  However, we will pay off the 2 smaller credit cards and, as mentioned previously, we will be 1 month ahead on everything.

Plan For Repayment:  As I just started my second job within the last month, the full pay has not completely kicked in as the learning curve must be taken into account.  However, my next paycheck from them should be accurate, and with this taken into account our "extra" income every month will be approximately 2300$.  My plan is to make a double payment on my prosper loan every month.  This will mean that it will take no more than 18 months to pay this off.  Any extra I recieve in paychecks over my budgetted amount will also go to the prosper loan, and will drastically reduce the amount of time it takes to pay this back, even from 18 months.  I can say this with confidence because there is often overtime offered through my job, and unless I have something extremely important to do, I always find the time to take advantage of it.  I believe I would make an excellent candidate for funding, as I will not be late and will repay the loan early as it will be my #1 priority.
