From July 2006 to January 2007 only changes between "Current" and any other loan status were reported. Therefore the incident of a loan switching from "Late" to "1 month late" was not reported before Feb. 2007 No status changes before July 2006 were tracked Listing Description: Hello and thank you for viewing my listing. I am a 22 year old student, majoring in History and Education in my final year of Undergraduate Studies. I am requesting this loan because....Late last year I was helping a now ex-Boyfriend cash his checks. It turns out that the checks were bouncing in my account because he had quit his job. Because of his actions a rather large check to American Express bounced (for several thousand dollars), and I'm requesting help in paying off the amount left on the card (Approx. $6500). As American Express charged off the card and the longer it stays on my credit report, the more it will hurt me in the future as I graduate from school in December of this year. While my credit rating shows a D on Prosper.com my actual payment history has been nearly perfect. The American Express write off and a $35 balance to a fitness club which I just discovered on my report are the only negative remarks. I have always made my payments in a timely fashion, and I never run up the total balance on my cards, keeping them well under 20% of my monthly income. Unfortunately, the American Express incident is creating a rather large burden on my report. The total amount of the debt from the card is approx. $6500 however I have $1500 dollars in my bank account that I will be using to pay off part of the amount owed, and I need now to borrow the other $5000 so I can get this behind me. Currently I work at a Retail Outlet as a Customer Service Representative. My hourly wage is 7.25 an hour, however that amount does not truly represent my situation, as I have very few bills to actually pay. My current monthly net income is $800 dollars after taxes. Here's my monthly budget with the prosper loan in place: Mortgage/rent: $250 Insurance: $40 Car expenses: $75 Utilities: $0 (Paid by landlord) Phone, cable, internet: $50 Food, entertainment: $75 (The rest is paid by my family) Clothing, household expenses $50 Other expenses: $50 --------------------------------------- Total monthly expenses: $490 As you can see, I have $310 left over to be used for my Prosper Payment, and can easily afford this loan. Not to mention, I have already paid 6 months of my rent, and therefore I will not have another active rent payment for 6 months. I promise that my payments to Prosper will be my top priority each month. In fact, I am going to have Prosper automatically withdraw my payments each month so that everyone, including myself, knows that my payment will be made on time, every time. I'm not about to make a mistake with this opportunity to continue rebuilding my credit. Which in all honesty just needs a slight nudge due to my past circumstances.
